Paul Highfill, LMFT
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, Formation Consultant
Transforming Presence was created by Paul Highfill, LMFT, a licensed marriage and family therapist with more than twenty years of clinical experience across foster care systems, human services leadership, professional helper training, and faith-integrated care.
Having walked alongside hundreds of individuals, families, and pastoral leaders, Paul recognized that conventional solutions often fail because they treat symptoms in isolation: either reducing complex human struggles to clinical checklists, or offering simplistic spiritual formulas that fail to address nervous system trauma and relational history.
“Transforming Presence exists as a vessel for His Spirit to live and move through so that His presence will be revealed to the world (1 Cor 2:12). We provide support and spirit-led counsel to those called to meet the physical, mental, and spiritual needs of individuals, families, and communities.”
Paul resides and practices in Thompsons Station, Tennessee, serving clients both locally in-person and virtually across the nation.
Examining the tangible shift when individuals and communities transition from survival mode into presence-centered wholeness.
Secular therapy ignoring spiritual formation or church counsel lacking clinical trauma awareness.
Whole-person care synthesizing trauma-informed clinical depth with gentle, authentic spiritual formation.
Running on automatic survival scripts, chronic nervous tension, people-pleasing, and emotional burnout.
Grounded nervous system regulation, clear relational boundaries, and durable interior peace.
Compassion fatigue, isolated pastors, and unequipped volunteers overwhelmed by complex mental health needs.
Structured care coordination, trauma-informed referral pathways, and resilient pastoral support systems.
Clinical Counseling is licensed psychotherapy conducted by Paul Highfill, LMFT, specifically for residents of Tennessee. It diagnoses and treats clinical mental health issues, marital distress, and trauma. Core Needs Coaching and Consultation is non-psychotherapeutic developmental guidance available globally, focused on self-understanding, spiritual formation, boundary design, and moving from insight into practical life action.
Transforming Presence is an outpatient appointment-based practice and does not provide 24/7 emergency psychiatric care. If you or someone you know is in distress or suicidal crisis, call or text 988 immediately.
